Dowel Connecting System

The Dowelock system has been designed to be the strongest self-alligning locking dowel system for concrete tunnel segments in the world.

Specifically designed to meet the performance demanded by the modern tunnel industry. The system consists of a connecting dowel moulded from high-strength, highly durable plastic, together with two locking assemblies. When cast into adjacent concrete tunnel segments the patented locking collets allow the dowel to enter with minimum compression force before locking, preventing the dowel from withdrawing.

The tapered dowel design assists allignment before locking to provide high resistance to both tensile and shear forces.

The dowel has the performance to restrain forces generated by both hydrophilic and compression gasket types, minimising joint gaps and offsets.

For greater shear and tensile loads a steel core dowel can be offered, giving tensile loads in excess of 9 tonne and a shear value in excess of 28 tonne. The system can be used in all types of tunnel lining.
